CHANGING INDIA

Today the politics have changed very much and every one can see but can't believe. Because they have casted votes and believed that development would take place but nothing happened than signing MOUs, foreign trips for 1/3 of work time, and completing their personal errands. The media is not at all true and is working now to just earn revenues. They show what that can bring them money and nothing else. For example: They showed that their were fake 10 rupees coin but didn't show the order by RBI given later stating that all the coins were real and acceptable. They didn't want to show later because it won't fetch them money. They have forgotten the public interests.
The government have turned down into a co-operative society which pays attention to their benefits only if they want to raise their salaries up they will without any discussions or disputes in Lok Sabha or Rajya Sabha. But when it comes to catering public interests they will cry for their only benefits, share and commissions. That's how the government of today works. The center wants their commission and the state want theirs.
Talking about bullets, years have passed but still talks are being going on but the government is so lazy to develop its own bullet trains in the time it boasts of IITs and brilliant students from there. They have forgotten that they are not more than learning machines which can learn all the formulas and equations but can't apply in real life.
In this time we need to experiment with our ideas to keep pace with this ever and fast changing world, but we are dependent on others to provide us technology advancements so the middle mens (other politicians and businessmen's )can earn. profits.
The time has come where we are looking at our great past and have been consoling ourselves that something good will happen and it will change.
Getting credit for others work is not something by which you will improve and become distinguished in that field because the secrets and command lie in the hands of original owner itself.

A clarion call to protect, preserve the environment

A clarion call to protect, preserve the environment

Environment sustains all living creatures. It has been the topic of discussions on television and in newspapers, indicating its gradual degradation. Various civic agencies have been crying hoarse to conserve environment as living and non-living organisms are dependent on it.
Activities of human beings created both positive and negative impact on environment. Actions such as deforestation, commercialized construction, neglecting water resources and not making optimum use of non-renewable sources of energy are taking a toll on our health and the mother Earth.
Small and concrete steps in routine life can bring huge changes in the long run. It is time to vow to go for car pooling, adopt rain water harvesting, using bicycles and public transport, segregate recyclable and non-recyclable articles, avoid using disposable items, planting saplings to add greenery around, saving electricity, using rechargeable batteries as well as opting articles made of biodegradable substances like cloth and paper bags to make our planet clean and green.
Advancements in science have made our life comfortable, but overuse of non-recyclable articles and batteries as well as depletion of forests has added misery to environment.
Energy production is one of the major causes of pollution and natural resource depletion by human beings. Conserving energy not only reduces the consumption of energy, and thus the need for energy production, but it also cuts down on air and water pollution by reducing the burning of fossil fuels.

Failing to take actions to create a sustainable environment for future generations could indicate extinction of many species of plants and animals. It is time to pause and think what we are striving for. Do we want natural as well as energy resources such as oil, coal and petroleum become a thing of the past?

Lost childhood

"There is no darkness but ignorance"
— William Shakespeare

MILLIONS OF children in India are engulfed in this darkness. Their innocence and childhood lost in the bid to eke out a living. Books, school and toys are beyond their reach as they are grounded in the harsh reality of being poor.

Many children work as domestic servants in houses, sweeping, dusting and performing other such innumerable household chores. Often at traffic signals young children can be spotted selling indifferent articles, while their financially better off counterparts are busy at school. Poor children in a bedraggled condition beg in front of temples, flocking devotees and reciting well-rehearsed lines, to evoke their sympathy. It is heartrending to see young rag pickers hunting for food in garbage dumps and fighting amongst themselves for it.

These street urchins enter the adult world much before their time and learn to fend for themselves at an early age. The carefree attitude and effervescence of childhood are alien to them. They are either orphans or their parents are too poor to provide for them. The future does not hold much promise for these unfortunate children. Eventually they are sucked into the quagmire of crime and languish in juvenile homes, where they are often ill-treated.

The true potential of underprivileged children is not channelised in the right direction. Poverty is the bane of their life and education, which can be instrumental in their upliftment, is denied to them. This is the scenario in our country where the `Right to Education' has been incorporated in the Fundamental Rights, guaranteed to citizens, by the state. How can our country boast of technological advancement and development when millions of children are wallowing in the darkness of ignorance and poverty? The vision of a strong and powerful India cannot be envisaged until every child becomes equipped with the tool of education.

Every year we celebrate Dasara by burning the effigy of Ravana to symbolise the triumph of good over evil while Deepavali, the festival of lights, is celebrated by decorating houses and lighting lamps. Instead of mere pomp and show associated with these festivals, we must ensure that knowledge prevails over the evil of illiteracy and the light of education dispels the darkness of ignorance.

Terror of Examination

Whether it is parents, teachers or students, all academic and educational activity which involves all these people is ‘examination’ oriented. Parents send their children to school so that they do well in the exams. Teachers work hard through the year to help the students in doing well in the examinations. And for the same cause, the students are expected to work hard, take tuitions, do anything but score above 90% in their examinations!
The role of examinations in the educational system cannot be devalued. Examinations have their functions. They inspire, motivate and fix up a goal and thus direct the efforts of the assessing the progress of the students in concrete terms. In order to achieve success in exams a student’s study becomes book centric. Short cuts like cramming, consulting cheap notes etc. are adopted by the students to sail through the examinations.
No wonder, the examinations have become a ‘terror’ that starts haunting the students a few months before examinations. As the doomsday gets closer, the student loses his peace of mind, his appetite, his sleep and he tries to burn mid-night oil to be prepared for the examinations. The fear of not doing well makes them tense, nervous and worried. At times, they get so confused that they forget all that they have learnt and thus in spite of their hard work they end up doing badly in the exams.

After all, examinations do not get to measure what they claim to measure. Marks are no indication to one’s knowledge, intelligence or ability. But is there any better method available? A few steps to improve the system may be a hopeful sign. Whatever be the ill-effects, examinations have come to stay as a necessary evil.

Decreasing Number of Females in India

From time to time, surveys of various towns, villages and cities have been conducted to get at the truth about the girl child. A recent survey of sex ratio of Delhi reveals a horrifying fact that the number of female children has greatly declined since 1991 even in the capital of the country. The number is getting abysmally low also in various other states. It has been both shocking and disturbing to know that at most places in India, the birth of a girl child is still not welcome so much so that female infanticide is practised with no qualms whatsoever. Gender discrimination is at the root of this trend.
Be it south or north of India, the gender discrimination is rampant all over. Very often, a girl is discriminated against her more privileged brother by her mother at home. In school, she is treated as ‘weak’ by her male classmates. As she grows older and goes out for work, she suffers discrimination and harassment of all kinds. No doubt, the conditions in the country appear to have changed to a large extent. The constitution of free India has given protection woman’s rights thereby putting her at par with man politically, socially and economically. Education today gives her a place of some honour. In fact, women have excelled as doctors, artists, administrators,, engineers, scientists, sports personalities and so on…A girl, indeed, is no less capable as  a daughter than a son to her parents. It is the woman alone who can take on the double burden of work outside and work at home. There is no reason why a girl child should be treated as inferior or as a burden.
The change in the woman’s status is, however, superficial. Looking at the real picture, a girl in the family is still an unwanted burden and in some cases she is even denied the right to live.

What is most required is compulsory education of girls all over so that they develop into self-sufficient individuals. Urgent steps also need to be taken to make parents and society aware of the importance of girls everywhere. Laws, made to protect the rights of women, must be implemented with honesty and efficiency. Women have to rise as a force to defend the rights of a woman. Besides, the Government and Non-Government Organisations must tap their sources to correct the gender imbalance that still ails our society if we want our country to progress.

The Importance of Time Management

If you lead a goal oriented life style, time management is more important. It is only through a program of using your time for action that you can use the time to achieve. Many people do not hold time management in high regard and because of this they are unable to focus on their tasks on time and fail miserably.
Time is fixed we all have the same amount of time available. The only way we can succeed in anything is to use this time effectively. By using your time better you can pack more things into it and this will lead you to success in the same amount of time. Remember wasted time is wasted forever. You will never get it back.
Prioritizing Your Tasks
The first step is to prioritize your tasks. Make a list of all that needs to be done in the course of the day. Instead of wondering what to do, just get the list out and start going through them one by one. Eliminate the time wasters. By making a list of priority tasks you will be able to find the Time-wasters. What activities can you eliminate so that you have maximum time to focus on your tasks that lead to success?
Start Now
Since we are talking about time management why not start now? Start somewhere and just do something. You will find that you can create an effective time management schedule that works for you in no time.
You will then be able to reap the rewards of this time management very quickly. For the best time to start is now. So stop wasting time.

The significance of time management will be apparent when you are able to organize your daily activities and are able to achieve your long term goals with sustained methodical approach.

True meaning of life

Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if we cannot help them, at least don’t hurt them.
Each choice we make has a ripple effect on our lives. When things happen to us, it is the way we react that creates the difference, between the sorrow of our past and the joys in our future. How far you go in life depends on your being tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, tolerant of the weak and the strong, because some day in your life, you would have been all of these. How true! You are only here for a short life. Therefore, don’t hurry. And be sure to smell the fragrance of flowers along the way. Whatever you do, do with kindness; whatever you say, say with kindness.

Life is God’s most precious gift. It is how we choose to live this gift that gives us full meaning and appreciation of what is truly important. Many will come and go in our lives. Leaving imprints on our souls and memories that warm our hearts. But with each lasting impression, we receive some of life’s greatest lessons that cannot be learnt from any textbooks. These are the lessons of the wise and the knowledgeable. Those who have experienced life and those who have lived are the people we never forget; the ones who drastically changed our lives forever and it is forever that we are grateful to them. Life is so short, so follow some rules, forgive quickly, believe slowly, love truly, laugh loudly and never avoid anything that makes us smile. Life is life riding a bicycle to keep your balance you must keep moving.

Conservation – Need of the Hour

The earth’s resources are being stressed by human activities, resulting in huge environmental problems such as depletion of the ozone layer, greenhouse warming, habitat destruction, water and air pollution, the deforestation leading to the plight of endangered species. As a result, what we have under our feet and around us is the world bereft of all that is pure, fresh, enriching, life-giving and essentially natural. Obviously, the world we hand-over to our next generation would be without the bounties of nature.

What can we do as individuals and as a society to make a difference? Teachers can help students get involved with recycling at school and students can help their parents start recycling at home. It saves energy. By burning less fossil fuel, we will have less air pollution. We also need to help reduce pollution further. Instead of using cars, we should walk or ride bicycles. We should use paper bags instead of polythene. Global warming should be tackled by reducing the use of air conditioners. Deforestation needs to be replaced by afforestation. We should never waste water and should practice rain water-harvesting. In fact, we should avoid waste of any kind. The need of the hour is to conserve the earth’s resources and protect them from degradation of any kind.

The role of family in the upbringing of children

Family plays an important role in the upbringing of children. The parent’s guide and help their children in inculcating all the good values in life. The lessons taught in the family are never forgotten. Parents become the role models for their wards who pick up the same qualities as they grow up in life. All aspects of a man’s life – his character, sense of responsibility, good and bad habits, ability to cope with difficulties, and his piety – are shaped primarily during his childhood. The bright memories of childhood become strength during trying times. All the great personalities come from great families. Family plays a vital role in the upbringing of every child.

Time is the best healer of man

Man is the most adaptable creation of God. He can survive any tragedy in life and move on with his life. God has given man the ability to leave the past behind and live in his present. There is no memory that time cannot erase from human memory. Everyday number of accidents takes place taking away our dear and near ones; yet we don’t stop living our life. Regardless of what happens to our life the show must go on. Time helps us to wipe our tears that role down from the memories of our dear ones. Recently in the MH17 tragedy hundreds of innocent people lost their lives. Many families got affected suddenly with the tragedy. However with the passage of time the impact diminishes and life regains its lost trajectory.
